BEAUTY BEHIND THE WALLS

I was walking down the street and  I started thinking who are these  people spray painting the walls across the city.Graffiti is one of the fast growing movement in South Africa yet it's not legal,some may call it vandalism but an artist must seek permission from the building owners to spray paint their artwork.

In some parts of the city in Johannesburg you'll find one of the most amazing spray paint artworks,these amazing works of art makes the city beautiful and colourful.Tapz,Riot,Chow Ming,Mars,Bias and Dbongz just to name a few,they are the pioneers of this type of artwork we see  their tags and spray paint  artworks across the city.They have turned our walls into street galleries a fixed mark on our street canvases.What caught my eyes is this graffiti tag 'TAPZ'.

Who is Tapz? Am I the only person asking myself this question?This anonymous notorious Johannesburg artist is well known for spraying the most unusual of places for example the freeway bridges,Jo'burg train cars,walls etc you find this tag in most unusual of places I've been to Yeoville,Maboneng precinct,Newtown and Hillbrow you can name it all you will never leave these places without seeing Tapz graffiti tag,to Mr Tapz we say thank you.

The annual hip hop festival in Newtown features a graffiti session if you want to see some of the artwork take a walk or a drive to Newtown under the N1 highway bridge.To all the art pioneers keep doing the good work and making our cities beautiful.
